Eid is the most important festival celebrated by Muslims in India as well as across the world. They generally celebrate two types of Eid like- Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid and the other is Eid-ul-Azha or Bakr-Eid

Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid is the festival that marks the end of the month of Ramadan which is the holy month of fasting for Muslim. It is the ninth month in the Muslim Calendar when Eid is celebrated. After the completion of the month, when the new moon is seen, the celebration of Eid gets started.

 

        Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated as a festival of sacrifice by Muslims across the world. It is done with prayers in the mosques. On this special day, Muslims dress up in new clothes and go to mosque for offering prayers to Allah, the merciful. They offer their prayers for peace and prosperity of all. They wish each and everyone by greeting Eid Mubarak. They share their love and affection for one another on this auspicious day.

They visit homes of their near and dear ones and exchange gifts with one another. Some of the special dishes like Biriyani, kheer, semai, sheer kurma etc. Completes the festival.

 Children also celebrate the day in their way. They love to wear new clothes on that day. Children get money or ‘eedi’ from the elders that is their Eid gifts. Eid is celebrated with absolute joy and happiness and by thanks giving. Eid is the celebration of kindness, sympathy , brotherhood, love and compassion.
